Born among the rings of Cofan 5 to a pair of destitute, aging miners and forced to support the family by begging for scraps from opulent tourists as they passed Cofan’s famous ice geysers, Oberothton Lahnkara understands the inequality that grips the Border Worlds due to centuries of neglect by the Powers. Motivated by this upbringing, Oberothton joined the ragtag revolutionary forces of the Border Coalition as a teenager to help fight for the liberation of his fellow fringe-dwellers. Oberothton’s discovery that he is the last descendant of Ronan Neamru, final Tahir of the ancient Quantar tribe, also alerted him to the dangerous erosion of history in the space age, drawing him to the journalism field. When not in a CZ or salvaging a derelict, Oberothton’s Asp Explorer, the CIU Hamalzah’s Glory, can be found patrolling the Manite area.
