The "Domina Noctis" - Mistress of the Night

17 (XVII in latin) was the cursed number in the Roman Empire.
A harbinger of death and destruction.
When Varus lost his three legions in the Battle of Teuteburg Forest, legion number 17 was hit the worst.
For a whole epoch, 17 became what 13 is to the superstitious today.
On many Roman graves you will find the inscription "VIXI" which results from swapping the Roman number letters XVII.
"VIXI" in Latin translates to "I lived"
