Odyssey is a deep space vessel for conducting research and gathering cartographical data. Designed to be entirely self-sufficient Odyssey is capable of refuel, repair and advanced synthesis facilitated via her state of the art fuel scoop, dual auto-field maintenance units, repair limpet controller, laser mining tools and surface recon vehicles for the replenishment of materials. Odyssey has been described as her own station in the black.

Weight-stripped and extensively engineered, in spite of her numerous facilities and tools, she boasts an impressive longevity and jump range. Unlike many long-jumpers Odyssey is able to directly manipulate and fine-tune her fuel tank volumes via the use of plasma slugs. Dumping plasma affords Odyssey the capability to perform precision fuel volume jumps to extremely long distance stars, often without the requirement of FSD injections.
