A reminder of our beginnings

Description
“Well, you see, we never really got along. My father wasn’t exactly the best role model, and he constantly tried to back me into a corner emotionally and mentally, to never lash out, to never talk back. I hated the old man for this reason to this very day. I could never express how I felt about something, without fear of being a social outcast. Even though I hate the man, there is one thing that he taught me that I hold dear to my heart.
I was coming home from a excursion trip to the lower decks. I got roughed up and beaten by bullies. I was extremely depressed and hurt. A man in a old earth Trenchcoat saw that I was upset, came up to me and asked me if I wanted to buy this stuff called “Onionhead”. I was just about to when I remembered something my father told me years ago. He said, in no special way: “Do the right thing. Always. That way, when bad things happen, you’re not at fault.” I remembered what he said that day, and I turned the man down and I went home. The next morning, I check up on the station bulletin, and the man was arrested that very same day, just hours after he offered me the Onionhead. I’ll never forget what he told me.”
- Kao Tchaikovsky, responding to a question regarding his family life asked by a local station reporter.
