Research project.

A laser mining ship for the purpose of gathering bulk loads of commodities in deep space and returning them to a fleet carrier.

It is fitted with pre-engineered mining lasers whose great range makes the task much easier.

The ship has no weapons and so should not be used anywhere where there may be any danger from other ships. It can escape attacks but only under limited circumstances and is likely to suffer extensive damage and possible destruction during the escape.
