The Aurum was designed and fully optimized to serve as a Heavy-Duty Mining Command & Control rig, notably representing the first and oldest of the Heavy-Duty Mining Vessel Designs.

Its heavyweight design sacrifices Jumprange in favor of maximum survivability, while still being able to pack a punch in Combat encounters.

The vessel has seen very extensive use throughout the years and was scheduled to continue service on a regular basis.

In Jun 3306, the Aurum was converted into a Carrier Support Vessel, now fully capable of autonomous Deep Space Mining Operations and optimized Defenses.
