Ship details

Initially used as a (PvE) Combat Support ship, when the Thargoids returned in 3303 the INV: Gladius and INV: Xiphos were both given experimental weapons and long-range sensors to find weaknesses in the Thargoid Interceptors but to no avail, these ship builds were called Inquisitor builds. Afterward both ships retained the long-range scanning equipment and some of their experimental weapons.

In late-3303 when conflict with the Thargoid broke out, the Gladius's build was made into an anti-Thargoid Combat Support build which the Gladius proved to be well-suited for mainly due to it's strong shields and ability to outrun Interceptors, this allowed the Gladius to attain over 100 Interceptors kills throughout the duration of the Human-Thargoid conflict up until late-3304. In addition, the Gladius was never once destroyed in combat.

As the Human-Thargoid conflict continued throughout 3304 and new smaller anti-Thargoid weapons were developed which allowed smaller Human ships to effectively combat the thargoids and more powerful Interceptors being deployed by the Thargoids, the Gladius became obsolete as an anti-thargoid ship and as such the Gladius was soon converted back to it's previous (and now current) Inquisitor-Build in late-3304.
