Description
When the Thargoids retuned in early-3303 the INV: Xiphos and INV: Gladius were both given experimental weapons and long-range scanning equipment to find weaknesses with the Thargoid Interceptors and learn as much as possible about them, the Xiphos was specifically given shield-bypassing weapons and Ion Disruption shock mines to be used against the Thargoid Interceptors but to no success. Afterward the Xiphos was mothballed.

In early-mid 3304 the INV: Xiphos (like the Audacious) was revitalized and given brand new equipment and engineering upgrades, currently the Xiphos serves as a well-protected heavy escort fighter for use in bounty hunting, light-AX roles and other combat-support roles.
