Intended for long-range Reconnaissance, the Goshawk has limited protection and is not equipped with any weapons but has a high jump range. It is equipped with different types of long-range sensors and can silent-run effectively from other vessels for short periods of time.. Except maybe from Thargoid Interceptors.

In early-3307 the Goshawk received multiple upgrades to further enhance the ship which for many years had retained outdated and obsolete legacy engineering upgrades. The new upgrades included greater power generation, longer jump range, more efficient shielding, a lighter and more reliable life support system, enhanced sensors, greater speed, and a more efficient thermal control system which allowed the Goshawk to fuel scoop for longer and be less detectable to other ships. The Goshawk also received brand new upgrades namely to the fuel scoop and the new AFMU module both of which were engineered with heavy shielding to protect the modules and increase survivability, however the life support system (which is grade A) is not shielded and likewise the armor of the Goshawk is unchanged.
