H.S.Algir's fleet exploration ship. Sacrifices a bit of jump range compared to other CMDR's exploration vessels in order to load some weapons mainly engineered for rats repelling (mines, turreted canons) and small offensive capacity ( plasma accelerator , fighter bay).

While the Oberon can be seen as a non orthodox exploration ship, these equipments make it very well suited for extremely long journeys in deep space yet being capable of facing the unknown or the greed of pirates when approaching nearby inhabitted areas.
