I got The Nomad after helping with a mission to gather scan data for the Alliance. They offered a reward of not only money, but a discount on the Lakon Asp. It took me months to get the money together to outfit her for deep space exploration. Now she is capable of not only vast jump distances but also self-repair, self-refueling and defending herself. Although with the latter I would rather run than fight, by no means is The Nomad a combat vessel, most of her weaponry is defensive.

With her scanners she is able to find all the planets and moons in a solar system quickly. With the addition of the Detailed Surface Scanner I can now get extra credits for each planet or moon I investigate.
