First Leg Completed

We arrived at Hillary Depot early today. The crew have all been released for a day of R&R. It wasn't too hard of a trip but with the distance we have yet to cover we all need to be prepared for a long and arduous journey. I myself have stayed onboard the Iron Minotaur, my new home. I'll be damned if this ship isn't perfect. Yes the venting is fouled up in a dozen different places, the wiring is faulty in a couple spots (and even hanging out of the ceiling plating on the bridge, but I'll have one of the engineering crew shove it back in with some adherent tape), and the left rear landing gear hydraulics are as temperamental as a kicked goose but this beast could not be more beautiful to me. Our paint is starting to chip from the combination of so many jumps and having to skirt so close to stars to siphon fuel but that just makes the Minotaur look more lived-in, more inviting. More like home. The crew seem to agree. On the way here they already took it upon themselves to rearrange the rec room. I couldn't really complain with the new dart board and the expanded screen viewing lounge. No idea where the hell they got the stuff to put it together like that but ah, what the hell. It doesn't hurt anyone and the new viewscreen does look way better. Actually it looks a little familiar. I need to make a note to double check the SRVs and make sure their displays are intact...
The remainder of the trip to Hillary Depot was uneventful. We found more high-metal content worlds and even a water world! In fact we found a few systems that were wholly unexplored! And only a few hundred light years out of populated space too. I never though that would be the case, what with the number of commanders flying the cosmos these days. I turned in the data and got a few credits from it. I made sure to pay the crew a bonus for their hard work. One of the engineers, Cali Calderon, is a bit of a slacker but the rest seem like good reliable people. Even if they do pilfer unattended electronics. The day after next we start the next leg of the journey to Colonia by heading to Amundsen Terminal in Lagoon Sector NI-S B4-10. I hear it has an amazing view of the Lagoon Nebula. Hopefully I'll be able to get a view picts to include in the next log but we'll just have to wait and see. For now I'm going to go check the SRVs and then head to my rack. This journey is amazing but it has taken it out of me. It's time for some rest.
