The storm before the... Other storm?

You'd think that on the precipice of a humanity threatening alien incursion that everyone would be on the same page about what to do, but of course humanity really isn't good at thinking ahead. The big 3 superpowers can't agree on what to do at all, even within their own parties, the Feds can't seem to work out if they want to kill the things or have a nice chat (not that that went well of course), the imperials are too far up their own asses to care; the only people preparing to do anything is the alliance and they're too small to really stand a chance, they don't even have capital ships.
And now of course another faction comes blundering into our own territory, we tried diplomacy but no, the classic spear waving took over their minds immediately. We however have a lot more friends than they do. I moved my carrier into position with the rest of our squadron as a show of force, our massive presence seemed to rather catch them off guard, but I don't know a lot of the gritty detail. While my compatriots were celebrating their victory over those hot-headed fools, I was somewhat preoccupied with investigating this new thargoid threat.
It seems the first of these "stargoids", Taranis, is to arrive in Hyades Sector FB-N b7-6 some time tomorrow, and don't want to waste time in investigating exactly what this new entity is. Against better judgement I am currently waiting here in a Krait outfitted simply for research rather than combat, there is only so much you can find out from a corpse of course. I have afforded myself some level of caution though, I've moved my fleet carrier out from Aditjana to a ways out of the bubble, just in case what happened to the ill-fated kingfisher should happen here also. I've also moved all of my personal ships onto it in the event we'll have to make it out of the bubble in a hurry.
Evacuation plans have been discussed with other senior members of the Emporium after some short war participation, our leader, CMDR Zarozinia, has taken the liberty to outfit her carrier with any supplies we would likely need out in the expanse, and our faction easily has enough carriers to fully evacuate our controlled systems, though fingers crossed it won't have to come to that.
Anyway, that's enough ramblings... I should get some rest before finding out what tomorrow brings.
