Log 01: functional guardian base!

Found some truly incredible things yesterday, blueprints for guardian technology, and not only that, but functional technology components that I think could be used to put together some prototypes of these designs. High output reactors, railguns that could rip apart a thargoid in a couple shots, plasma weapons. And I know there’s more data to be found, I’ve just marked several systems that could potentially hold more Gurdian secrets!

    All of this was found in what is easily the most functional base I’ve found, consisting of many of the normal obskelisks that are commonly found in these types of ruins, but interestingly there are several things unique to this specific base, power pylons (6), and most interesting is the large machine I recovered my data from, it seems to be some kind of information relay, wether this data is stored on site or transmitted FTL is currently unknown,

       I also found were several functional drones. Sadly these drones, for whatever reason, are incredibly hostile and will try their damndest to murder you on sight, I experienced this first hand when after their initial, ineffective, attacks I heavily underestimated them and decided to observe them attempting to destroy my rover (thinking myself safe behind the shield) and now have the scars to prove that their secondary weapons (they charge up and glow before firing missiles) are much more powerful than their first choice that simply jiggled the rover.

“power pylons”: large columns, hole on one side showing an orb of blue glowing light, will only be visible after approaching as they rise from the ground only after the SRV is nearby. these systems can be charged by firing plasma weapons into the orb, please use only the weapons equipped on srv’s as ship systems may damage the pylons)

“Sentinels” Large, surface skimmer like construct reminiscent of a paper airplane (but much thicker vertically) Extremely hostile, will be undetectable until they raise from the ground (typicaly near pylons) has two attacks, the first choice being a canon that simply bounces around the SRV and occasionally breaks the shield, and a second rarer attack that is a pair of vertical launch missiles that will instantly break shields and severally damages hull ( if shield is already broken) this attack luckily has a long charge up we’re the sentinel stop firing, holds still, and brightly glows. This is a good opportunity to divert power to weapons and spray the skimmer till it explodes (continue firing even if it’s at 0% hull as they can continue fighting even while extremely badly damaged.) they also drop materials useful for construction of technology when destroyed.

“The Relay”: a large pyramid like structure that is activated by charging all 6 power pylons, after activation a glowing slot in the ground in front of the relay will open (for those involved with thargoids it like the hole you put the probes) to fully activate the relay you will need to jettison an ancient relic (glowing anti-gravity crystal) while the SRV is directly on top of the hole, after that a large orb (also glowing) will raise from the relay and can be scanned with the standard onboard data link scanner for you to receive schematics of your own.
