I can't put my finger on it. There are signs, lots of. The Thargoid sightings, crashed ships, hyperdictions, attacks on federal ships, the structures. The Formidine Rift mystery. I've been there myself. At the crash sites, the structures, I've been hyperdicted, I visited the Formidine Rift, heard the logs at the abandoned camps. There is AEGIS now, uniting the three superpowers in one research division like a shadow of INRA back then. There is also that Alliance base in the California nebula and Sirius Corp expanding into Merope... I am not one for conspiracy theories, but this stinks. Last week I spent some time preparing a few things myself. For one I did some more legwork for Sirius Corp, where I had a pretty good standing already due to my time hauling stuff from Sothis, and built a few connections to an Engineer in their home system. He is said to have a connection to Professor Palin in Maia. Yesterday I went there and got myself a corrosion proof cargo rack and signed a contract for further outfitting at his base. Palin is doing Thargoid research himself and agreed to tune up ships for independent pilots like me. Better to have somebody like him available should this mess escalate at some point.
