Stepping out of Character: State of my Game.

I had planned to return to the Bubble from Jaques to collect for the Community Goal and head on back faster than you can blink but the closer I got to the Bubble the less I was looking forward to it. Exploration can be fun but if it's just 22KLY of scanning a system and then jumping on it can get real dull real quick. With that in mind, I decided to stay a while. When the Engineers update went live I visited Felicity. As I had nothing with which to unlock her upgrades I put her on my To Do list and went about my business. Since then I've accumulated a lot of materials so I decided it was time to go and see Felicity again. Despite the random outcome of the upgrades, I must confess I did have fun doing it. I scribbled down some notes for the first couple of attempts, intending to make some log entries here about them but the more I did the more I was getting confused by the results. For example, an attempt to improve the Overcharged Power Plant resulted in a primary effect of 28% decrease in Integrity and a secondary effect of a 9% increase in Integrity.
While I managed to get the range of my Asp Explorer up to just over 35LY, a subsequent attempt to improve the boot time of the FSD brought the range right back down to 29LY so I need to familiarise myself with how the whole Engineers thing works a bit better...
Since I'm not returning to Jaques any time soon, I decided to head over to check out a couple of recommended systems where I'd find Modular Terminals as mission rewards for a Felicity upgrade. Still nothing found as yet.
On a previous playthrough of the game (I reset my save when Horizons came out) I made it to Sagittarius A* and back to the Bubble. Once I got back I experimented with a few different ships and kinda lost my way in the game for a bit. This is a large part of the reason for this particular logbook entry - I don't want to make that mistake again! The Community Goal in Morai to build Imperial Warships isn't too far from my base in Okinura so I decided to head down and make some cash while I was figuring out what to do next.
As an aside, dropping into Unidentified Signal Sources (at least the ones rated Threat 0) has yielded a few more materials and data fragments as well as some eerie views:
