Community Goals a Miss.

Given that Community Goals have been a seriously lucrative source of income for me of late, I jumped on the chance to participate in two more. There are actually four running concurrently, all of which are in the Mu Koji system: two for the Federation and two for the Empire. The two I chose were in support of Federation goals. The recent Jaques Community Goal has now paid out and I’m 3MCr richer which means I can now afford to upgrade to reinforced alloys on the Hrafnkel’s hull. Despite that, I’m still not keen on taking the ship into battle so once again I’ve taken out the Cobra to take part in the Community Goals.
With a strong presence of both Federation and Imperial forces in the system I expected there to be a lot of opportunity to get into some combat and collect some bonds. I started off with Low Intensity combat zones and found both of the ones I tried were in a state of Ceasefire when I went to select my faction. Undeterred, I went looking for High Intensity combat zones and found exactly the same thing; ships from both sides moving on from the zone.
I’ve discovered a number of proprietary designs (Core Dynamics mostly) and even some very rare military grade alloys. While I’m sure they’re useful, they mean nothing to the Goal I’m involved in.
Since the Community Goals this time around haven’t really resonated with me, I think I’ll pass on them and dig around the Engineers a bit more. Now that Felicity has introduced me to Juri Ishmaak, I’m intrigued to see who else is out there. Think I’ll spend some time on that.
I’ll still use the Cobra for now, I think. I still don’t have enough cash to pay the insurance cost if the Hrafnkel is destroyed.
