Back at Jaques.

I have finally arrived at (in?) Colonia. My first port of call was Colonia Hub to hand in my exploration data but once there I was surprised to find no facility to do that. Odd - Universal Cartographics had had offices at each Waypoint station between Colonia and the Bubble. Why wouldn't it be here? Particularly because the always-friendly greeting I received told me that Colonia Council were in need of exploration data.Undeterred, I made my way to Jaques Station and handed it in there. Almost immediately I got my Exploration promotion to Pioneer, the penultimate step to Elite status.
I've now had a chance to wander around the new Outfitting system and while there's not much available beyond what the Hrafnkel is currently equipped with, I have to say that the new paint jobs for the SRVs look very cool. I had hoped to equip the ship with a passenger cabin but it doesn't look like Jaques provides them. Outfitting was also unavailable at the Colonia Hub so there may well be opportunity to visit the facilities there and spend some cash. I'm not eager to make yet another round trip back to the Bubble for upgrades.
It's definitely time to rest up for a while here, I think. There's word of a number of Community Goals being planned for the expansion of Colonia to neighbouring systems and I'm keen to be able to take part. Colonia still does not feel like home - and I fully accept that it may never - but I think participating in the expansion and working for the factions out here would be a good first step. There was not much opportunity to check out the locally-available missions before turning in last night so that'll be the next step.
I may yet head back to the Bubble at some point. After all, there are several things I still want to be able to do. I want to visit Hutton Orbital. I want to see what other wonders the Engineers can work on my ship.
For now, there's a new frontier to explore.
