Stepping out of Character: And we're back to floundering.

I've been back in the Bubble for near-as-makes-no-difference four months now. In that time, I've upgraded to an Anaconda and back again (twice, but we'll get to that), played with the passenger missions and unlocked a few more Engineers. I've taken part in a few community goal efforts, perhaps the most interesting of which would be the exploration of some alien ruins. While I did enjoy the concept of it - and venturing into Open Play to meet other pilots from time to time - the execution of it felt a little off.Not through any fault of the Frontier Development Team, you understand. It was a massive undertaking and one I enjoyed taking part in. From it I learned how to navigate planetary surfaces from the air, among other things. While at the time my Internet connection was better than it had been in a long time, with so many players in each instance I visited there were bound to be problems. In the end I cut my involvement short as I was getting headaches while playing. I never did find out what was causing them but still...
So I drew a line under my participation and moved on. I bought another Python to replace the lost Hrafnkel and visited a few Engineers to gain some upgrades. Over the past few months, though, I've become somewhat disillusioned with the Python. Despite being A rated with many of her modules, she still feels a bit gutless at times. I miss the agility of my Asp Explorer.
So with that in mind I have sold the Python. With all of the upgrades I've equipped the ship with, I was actually able to purchase an Anaconda at Bennett Gateway (my usual base of ops) and an Asp Explorer. I've been able to upgrade the Asp with A-rated modules so I should be able to do what I need to do while making some money to upgrade the Anaconda.
I've not been updating my Inara log for a while. While reading through my more recent entries, I've been reminded of all the things I've said I would like to do while in the Bubble that I still haven't gotten around to. The trip to Hutton Orbital, for example. I would like to make that trip sooner rather than later so I think it just got bumped to the top of my list.
While all this is going on, the Beta for 2.3 is underway. I had planned to purchase Beta access but to make it worthwhile I would need to play a lot more than I do so that idea was shelved. One thing I would like to do though is play a lot more "in character" - a habit that should be made a lot more accessible by the new Holo-Me currently being tested...
