33101211 - Sol Front

11 Dec 2024Joan Risu
Got the alert when it was first announced and I dropped whatever I was doing to warm up The Eternal. I had to apologize to the desk jockey I was working with, but he just yelled through the corridor me to get my butt to Sol and that whatever is going on is more important than making a Commander do admin work. He's right.

That was about a week ago. I didn't get much sleep since then. Everyone has been running flights out of Rescue Ship Hutner around the clock to make up for the loss of the other ships. The Feds...Never seen a bunch like them look so ragged and determined at the same time, even during frontier skirmishes. I dunno what to say to them, so I figure I let the flying do the talking like always and leave the verbal stuff to the bigwigs like Tanner for now. No time to talk anyway; It's a miracle I found time to sit down and jot down this log.

I manged to reach out to some of those big name engineers and their contacts they work with so I can give the old girl a tune up, which I haven't done since the start of the war. I guess the Pilots' Federation and Aegis has been doing a lot of leg work to make things easier on frontline AX pilots, because the flow of materials have been better and its gotten easier to get the engineers what they need. And just in time too. Our efforts to kick that last titan out of Sol bore fruit in less than a week, we're about ready to push into Sol and towards Earth. Everyone who isn't already out there are doing their final checks and getting their assignments.

I can't help but wonder though...things feel way too easy. I hope it stays that way and I'm proven to be a big worrywort for nothing.

I'm being called away. Time to finish this fight.
