My first trip out into the Big Black (for the Lave Exploration CG)

I just returned from my first long range exploration trip. I went out as far as the Iris Nebula and back again (for the Lave Exploration CG - it was good motivation .I have managed to get my name on a whole lot of stars and planets along the way. This was the first time I've ever been the first to discover a system so it was a pretty awesome feeling to know that at least my name would always be remembered. Worth the trip just for that.
110 systems were visited on this little sojourn. 2,421,478 credits were made (with all the first discovery bonuses adding a little something). So right now, not something to do for the money ;-)
And I JUST made Pathfinder! This run took me from 82% trailblazer to 0% Pathfinder! Woot!!!! Actually checking again it's got up to 12% Pathfinder. It must take a little time to check things off for exploration. Even cooler
Next time I think I'll run a flight log to keep a track of the trip and map my progress. I hear there are some good apps out there to use for just such a purpose (you'd think it would come standard but nooooo)
All in all, an enjoyable experience and a nice change from trading and combat. I look forward to being able to land on some of the planets I find out there in the Big Black once the planetary approach suites are available for purchase I can't wait to see what weird and wonderful things are out there!
