Commander's Log, December 2, 3307The Battle of Mudhrid... Its been a while since I've written in this logbook. Since the last time I joined Operation Ida and helped my fellow Marlinists in the colonies.
But this... this was something new. I had to perform early scouting of what happened at the Steel Majesty in the Slipstream and was among the first on the scene in Mudhrid before the conflict broke. Then I found myself assigned to the ground front. I spent the better part of a week assaulting NMLA position in tandem with forces from around the Bubble. And the NMLA gave it all they had too.
Their bribery had managed to lure some other CMDRs into serving their cause. Over some probably poorly constructed Caustic Missiles. While it did become a decisive victory, it was long and brutal. My Mercenary Rank with the Pilot's Fed jumped a full rank + some. Warrior seems appropriate to be honest.
Gupta Industrial on Mudhrid 1 B was the center of attention on the ground. What would normally be a minor industrial settlement was the hot target for both the Empire and the NMLA. Likely for the manufacturing equipment present.
Now... days later the NMLA has been removed from the system with the exception of the Theta Group on that damn Far God Cultist Megaship. We need to deal with that before something else happens.
In the shorter term, the news of Hadrian Duval's son's birth has been a surprising bright spot in all of this. Hard to believe just a few years ago that man was my hated enemy. Today he's a valued ally.
I guess for all the problems and death the NMLA has brought, they also brought a surprisingly large amount of unity to the Galaxy. I saw Feds, Imps, Alliance, Marlinists, and independents fighting together. People who would have gladly shot at each other just a year and a half ago. Now we're brothers and sisters-in-arms. When the NMLA are gone, the Galaxy will sure be a different place. And I hope the peace can last.
