LOG ENTRY 1: A NEW START

Spoke with Mia over the Holo last week, the Federation have been keeping her busy so it was nice to be able to catch up again. We talked a lot about mum and dad and how they would be proud of us all and how far we have come. Even after all this time it is hard to accept that they are gone, Jackson still refuses talk about the accident.Mia is on rotation so back home with Aiden and the kids for two weeks. I know she loves seeing the kids and misses them when she is on active duty but i feel the pull of the war, and the sheer thrill of it, means she is never truly off duty, It's her calling. Flying was always in her nature. Even when we were kids all she ever wanted was to fly. As soon as she could see out of the cockpit dad let her play around with, '' 'Radish', explaining the various controls and how they worked. At first it was a 'father and daughter' thing, he used to love how much she enjoyed it but it never wore off for Mia. Once she had a taste of it, felt the the thrusters kick in, she never wanted to be anything else.
Never thought i'd ever think it but it's tough being a billionaire, you forget how much day to day life keeps you busy. Now i no longer have to worry about paying the bills i find that there is nothing to push for. Sure, money means i go where i want and do what i want but it just feels....empty. Mia pushed for me to get involved with the war again. It's easy to remain ignorant of the Thargoid threat she reckons, 'out of sight, out of mind' but there is no guarantee they'll stay away from the bubble forever. Taking the fight to them may well be the best option, slow them down if nothing else.
Seems that fighting the 'Goids' is no longer just the preserve of the military. Mia mentioned that a lot of private pilots and corporations are also getting involved. Money does indeed talk and big conglomerates can field hardware that is at least comparable to what the military has. With the money available to me, i could certainly help with an expedition or fighting force. Mia let me know of a small group of pilots that had recently purchased a Fleet Carrier and was on the lookout for some new members, said i should drop the commander a message and see if they're interested.
I do think it is time for a change, maybe i will drop the squadron commander a message.........Mia always had a way of making you see things differently, even if you didn't like what you were seeing!
