The Palin Institute decided not to press charges.
The investigation is over and most of my privileges have been restored. I was given my communication rights back, but I still think they're monitoring anything I send out into the black. Aegis agreed to settle the whole conflict before it when public and decided to ". . .issue the necessary repercussions to those who exhibited unprofessional behavior within the organization."
I was very, very lucky this time. Aegis was on the verge of letting me go when they received word from another branch in the Pleiades sector. Apparently one of the regional managers over there offered to pick up my contract.
I accepted it almost immediately! Who in their lifetime gets a chance to go to the Pleiades? I know the Thargoids are a major risk, but I have nothing left to loose. The organization is sending me off to Donar's Oak tomorrow along with three other scientists. This is all very exciting, but incredibly nerve racking. I'll finally be on the bleeding edge of discovery.
I'll miss my old team. I need to keep them updated, if Aegis allows it of course. I don't wish to test their leniency.
