Day 24 - Kausalya Combat Zone, The last day of Robigo and Radio Sidewinder.

Wandering Ghost, Roaming Mazda, The Snarky Kitten and Angsty Lark.An Adder, a Viper, a Vulture and a Lakon Type 6.
This has been my ship progression over the past few days. here's a short summary before the start of this entry.
- After leading a wing of commanders to pledge to the royal princess, Aisling Duval, in an Adder
- We set forth to Kausalya where I've been fighting on the side of the federation to deal a blow on the Emperor's dawn Foothold, in both the Viper which I eventually traded in for a Vulture.
The Combat Zone
I've grown more battle ready in the combat zone around Kausalya. I didn't realise how many followed the Emperor's dawn. I have killed many and it is only through writing this log during a rather long stunt in witchspace that I have come to realise the number. All in the name of an empire and a princess to whom I've pledged myself.
I must have killed a hundred people.
I wonder what they were like, what they even looked like. Did they have family? What is their favourite food? There are still more each day and it doesn't seem like the flood of laser fire and explosions will end. I've become a little anesthetized to the violence. To be honest I don't really care anymore. Being among the top 15% who've contributed to the federation's call must mean it didn't really matter all that much.
No small thanks to my newest acquisition, I call The Snarky Kitten. I had to sneak a mention of my new vulture. I've never had a ship that could carry large weaponry before, it's a sight to behold... well until you start humanizing the enemy.
In the end what i'm trying to say is, while I have gained combat proficiency, don't know if it was worth it for all the lives I've taken.
I needed to do something different.
The Robigo Run
I started hearing about the Robigo Run from other experienced traders, and then from the fuel rats. I never investigated it; I could find a good route at the time that would give me near 500K per complete loop, so how good could it be?
Due to the Fuel Rats, event, Heart of Gold, I was however going to go by the general area until I had lost all my assets several days ago which placed a huge bump in my plans both short term and long. I would never have broached the subject again until out of the blue, one of the fellow commander's whom I had had the pleasure of saving from a stint contacted me and told me that he was doing the run. perhaps more importantly that it was the last day that it would be outside interstellar regulations.
So I had to do it. I convinced my wing whom i was flying with at the time to join me since they have never done it before and we went off. Better to do something and regret it than to never do it and regret not doing it, I say.
So we each bought a type 6 with our combat bond payouts and set off on a 16 jump voyage to a little mining outpost outside the bubble in a star system known to many as Robigo.
Given the length of jumps we had to make, my wing introduced me to Radio Sidewinder.
Radio Sidewinder
A little aside, I had heard about Radio Sidewinder. I had heard about Hutton Orbitals Radio, But never had i listened to either. All my time trading, all my time fighting was to the tune of laser fire, engine hums and impacts upon my ship's hull.
I curse each day I never tuned my comms to Radio Sidewinder. It would have made every monotonous journey, and kill a delight once again. I will never again leave port with the station not tuned in.
_ _ _ _
We ended up making quite a pretty penny. As you can no doubt see under my finances, I now earn approximately more than I used to prior to losing everything. Likely even more than I used to have. I've regained it all back. To be honest, I could go back to fuel ratting as soon as I buy an asp. 5 million a trip, maybe 6 maybe 7. 400lys to deliver cargo. It was way too easy. I can see why there's poly-partisan support to regulate it.
That's about it for today.
