Day 30 - Old Friends, Hypocritism and Mining
21 Dec 2015OliviaVespera
I had wanted to include something I forgot to mention in my last log but i forgot what it was. This is why I should keep logs; Every day. Too much can happen in a single standard day.
Old Friends
Unexpectedly and recently, a few of my native friends from LHS 3447 passed their pilot's federation final examination and have contacted me. I travelled over to them to greet and congratulate them. Hopefully even to pass on some of my wisdom. The verse is a dangerous place. Unfortunately there was clearly a great power gap between us. They and their ship couldn't travel very far. I would have lent them some credits but for some reason the Bank of Zaonce doesn't allow transfer of CR from one pilot to another.
It was good news but that was not the only message I had received from the home system. Back when I used to live on Dalton Gateway, I was part of a local fandom for a cult Galnet series. They had wanted to inform me that due to my inactivity in the group and missing several meetups, I have been booted out. It's such petty drama really though I admit it did sting for a while. Then I enter witchspace and I didn't care anymore. I have the universe! I shouldn't still feel this annoyed about it.
The Imperial Slave Trade
I have found a good trade route. I can earn 4/5th of a million every loop but only if I have backup. I can longer run my ship without a shield without backup. For that reason I have been travelling with CMDR Nathan Burns from the fuel rats, his fellow pilot friend whom i've forgotten and CMDR Echo who is also a fuel rat.
But those aren't the only problems with this route. This route is a imperial slave route... in Zeminal Torval's space... What would Aisling Duval say if she could see me now. The credits is so good. I could get a type 9 in a few trades... but does that make me a slave trader? I don't like the feeling of that. I've listened to those Ads on Radio Sidewinder about the CAN 3000, it makes me sick!
I've done a little bit of digging and it's curious that imperial slaves seem to be mostly traded from agricultural systems. What are they doing to them there? Perhaps I'm better off with a Xihe Biomorphic Companion for company.
Oh Yes, Mining
I tried mining it was fun for the first few moment until, my ship(the type 7 which I haven't named yet) became a dusty smelly sediment magnet. Somehow, it got out of the cargo bays. I had to give it up. It wasn't even making me much credits as it is. It feels as though I need to do a lot of research to find places with the best mineral fields.
So I stopped but even then, even though I bought my ship a full cleaning and maintenance service package for my ship, I still find soot coming out of the vents. Dock crew says it's normal and it'll clear out in a couple of weeks. I certainly hope so.
That is all I have to update ourselves on.
