Day 40 - Leestian issues, Esperanto and Santa Muerte
31 Dec 2015OliviaVespera
I have spent a fair amount of these past few days around and near leesti.Personally I didn't want to go. There was nothing too profitable there, It was in control of the alliance and .. that's about it really.
However I did have a job to transport good to Kolmogorov hub, and I had heard news that they were conducting a creating a experimental government around the area.
I confess, when I arrived in Leesti I wasn't impressed. Almost immediately Alliance agents started interdiction attempts. At the time when I arrived I was flying LA KURAĜA KUNIKLO, my newly christened Python. As this was a system controlled by the alliance, I could not engage them. I had to run and make it to my target destination which I did with no complication and completed my contract.
But disaster that could could have been the end for me struck. When I left the dock and entered supercruise, I did not know I was several minutes from death, One that could have been avoided had I noticed earlier. I've been out here for a long time and this hontata moment had only happened to me once.
I ran out of fuel.
Dropped out of supercruise, power alarms blaring, Emergency oxygen displayed on the UI and counting down, it took me a few moments shutting down modules before I checked the fuel guage and realised what had occured. I cursed quite loudly for a moment. Thankfully due to my training with the fuel rats, I know whom to call and what exactly to say to ensure i am saved.
Ratsignal Leesti 50Mm from Kolmogorov Hub On emergency Oxygen >3 minutes
After sending the message, I calmly though hurriedly entered emergency cyrosleep to save oxygen and let me ship's VI to liaison with the fuelrats. I'll admit. I wasn't sure If I would wake up again. This was as close as I've been to a space burial. I did survive as was evident and continued my tour of the leestian system.
Leesti and the surrounding systems.
What is unique about leesti is that it's a High Tech system surrounded by a great number of Agricultural system. While I can find better profits, I can see this place as a good system to for newly licensed pilots to trade in. There aren't many high tech systems in the bubble. Beyond that, beyond a couple trades, hiring mercenaries to follow me on trade routes. (I, again, almost lost my ship due to the incompetence of mercenary who would not engage the alliance agent; My ship was falling to pieces. It's amazing that the chassis isn't scratched), I had met a fellow commander who's company I enjoyed. CMDR Sushiboy. With him, we engaged in bounty hunting as I tested my ship's newly acquired weapons -as I had decided this system's mercenaries aren't as useless.
LA KURAĜA KUNIKLO
Newly painted and spelt out large on her hull. She's the first ship I have that I have named with my native tongue, Esperanto. I don't often use if because the language of trade and business is Trade Common, but I've always had pride in it and my heritage. Perhaps one day i'll talk about my family when the subject comes up. I have one more thing to add and that's the 35 million I have recently made
Santa Muerte
Since the Kausalya Conflict, I had not only been hesitant to take on requests to join a war but and bubble wide request. The request for presents for the Old Earth Winter Solstice to new pilots by the Pilot's Federation was more inviting than any of the others and I had joined it sparingly when I could. The route is long. At just under 230ly, I needed to use a more robust travelling ship to do the job and make it in the upper ranks of this multi pilot contract. I retrieved the Zombie Wasp II and made of voyage back and fourth. I will spare you with the details of the trip and the logistics of having to dock at an outpost with only one outpost and several eager pilots waiting to offload their presents.
Needlessly as I have already mentioned it, I made 35 million Credits when it ended. ^^ It has been a good week.
