Setting off for real

10 Dec 2015Sargonas
Tonight we set off into the unknown. Enough mini-trips of 1-2 kylies and back. Tonight we go deep. Where... I don't know yet. I'm setting course for COL 359 Sector NN-T E3-16. A totally arbitrary system I picked at random from when I zoomed into an area, because I knew I wanted to hit the 1k mark as a first stop, and just picked the prettiest start I saw at random. It's a BO VZ type star, 882.53 LY out. EDDiscovery is loaded up, and I plan to trilaterate missing systems every time I stop to refuel. Once I get there, its time to pick another random spot 1K out, and just rinse repeat till after the new year. I'm aiming to roughly go along the spiral arm gradually towards the galactic core. I'll also probably eventually dip down below the mid-plane, since I suspect it's more unexplored.

Let's do this.

UPDATE: Reached E3-16... replotting now for PRU EUQ QO-R E4-4. Pretty uneventful trip, though I did hit a scary spot. Hit a string of Red and Brown dwarfs in the Dark Sector... checked my map and I had a K coming up at the very last spot on my route before it turned into a dashed line. Crossed my fingers and pressed on... jumped into the system with a empty main tank and about 20% in the feed line. Let's try to avoid that in again...

UPDATE: COL 359 Sector NP-U C17-11.. my first ever unexplored system! *Shoves a flag into the ground* mine baby! MINE!
