11-19-3305: Another Historical Definition of Insanity?

The superpowers have acknowledged that interfering in the self-determination of an isolationist culture can have some serious ramifications, yet they fail to heed their own words. I paid little attention to the discovery of the Golconda and most of the news afterwards until the announcement of recent 'offers' to the crew of the generation ship from the superpowers, and honestly it is making me wonder what will happen next. The Federal superpower is something I am too familiar with, having been born and raised on Earth as well as doing business in their part of the bubble for almost 14 years. George Orwell, a former intelligence officer and author from the 20th, once spoke of imagining tyranny as a boot forever stamping on the face of humanity. Perhaps "tyranny" and "Federation" are interchangeable terms here. They exert a heavy-handed approach upon their citizens, something I am guilty of carrying with myself when it comes to how I approach some areas of my own job. At the end of the day they aren't aware that much of their damage is self-inflicted.
The Imperial superpower is something my guys and I constantly joke about, especially after all the Princess's and previous Emperor's booty calls and the Nova Imperium incident that it caused revealed the glamorous, gold-gilded dumpster fire just beneath the polished surface. They just slap another coat of polish on the situation and act like there is nothing to see.
Not to mention both sides of this coin have a penchant for genocide. Now each side seeks to exploit the population of the Golconda. They don't want the ship, they want its people and their engineering, which has very likely evolved very separately from our own. Also unless I am mistaken there are strict laws in place regarding the interference in the operations and travel of the generation ships. Of course people would be willing to circumvent this to sate their own greed.
I actually speak from experience that interfering in a culture that chooses to keep itself isolated tends to have dire ramifications for one side or the other. My people chose to isolate themselves on the premise that it was made clear in the 21st century that our population was to be replaced. Instead of allowing replacement they chose to preserve what culture we had left by leaving the cities. The reason for the Golconda's departure in the first place is only currently known by them.
Given the circumstances I can't help but find it hilarious that the Feds and Imps are attempting to attract their attention like someone who writes very shitty poetry attempting to woo a lover.
Some people prefer an existence away from civilization. Before getting this job I preferred to wander the galaxy in my little DBX, so it is easy to see how people are more attracted to a spacefaring existence than dealing with the awkward workings of societies who practically scour for shit to fight over nowadays.
If the Golconda folks are smart they will keep right on traveling past the bubble and find a planet outside of it to establish a colony. They don't want to be involuntarily embroiled in someone else's political BS.
