CMND Log 005: En Route to Shenrata

So, Aegis isn't really helpful when it comes to fighting Thargoids beyond just manufacturing weapons. They don't really have a tactical , strageic arm, no matter what they claim. About a week and change ago, I outfitted my Python Bon Bon to take on Thargoids and I've had mixed success. The main problem I have, is there are two different ways to fight Thargoids. The marauders have been seen in large numbers in the core worlds, about 60 LY from Sol. They are small and nimble and easily destroyed, except by Bon Bon, who is loaded to take on the larger vessels, with large fixed weapons, dumb-fire missiles, et cetera. These are the Thargoids actively hostile to us, and the independent Pilots like myself think where you find these guys is the real "war front" against the Thargoids, as current belief is destroying enough of these scouts prevents larger scale station assaults. Maybe they are like little feelers, gauging defense levels of systems. I make barely any money killing these in Bon Bon, the combat vouchers don't even cover the repairs, I'm basically paying money to prevent large scale invasion. I don't blame the Pilot's federation, I'm in fact glad someone is paying something to destroy actively hostile aliens, I just think Aegis or local factions should pony up some protection money before we all go broke. If I switched to a smaller, cheaper vessel with normal weapons, I still would be making pennies compared to the interceptors.
The Interceptors, on the other hand, have proven a tough nut to crack just in my Python. I am confident that I have all the pieces to get a kill, I've done extensive damage to a number of them, just something always goes wrong here or there, I take too long taking out the swarm, or get to close, that makes me run instead of stay in the fight. I'm sure if everything goes right, I COULD get a kill, it just takes practice. Which brings me to the dilemma.
Interceptors are far out in Pleiades, and are not actively hostile. We don't really know what they are doing, mostly just scanning and collecting their tech. Mauraders are actively attacking our space and our people. But I don't need this specialized ship for that. And it isn't lucrative. I've still got to eat at the end of all this. So I got to think about my next move.
While I'm thinking, I'm gonna jump on this new prison ship thing. Slaves are easy to pick up, people are the universes' most abundant resource. I'll kit out Bon to haul Imp Slaves and make some quick money while I think about my next move.
