CMND Log 031: Phroi Bluae IR-1 f1-1530

Guess I need to eat crow here. Last log I expressed confusion and boredom about the Dancing Giants system. After I made it to WP9 I looked over some of the media on the Fleetcom system. Apparently I was looking at it from the wrong angle. Went back to take another look. So, I get it now, great POI. 10/10.
I'm currently on the surface of the newest record holder and ... WOW as I am writing this a commander just crashed about 100 yards from me. That Orca would have crushed me. The pilot is ok, thankfully, but crap. Literally, I browned my suit. Fluid diet combined with 10 gs pulling at my exit port, it doesn't take much, and watching that ship angle down towards me...
Anyway, I was going to log my experience on the descent for future reference. I cancelled my glide almost immediately dropping from super cruise. I came to a stop, then tapped my downthrust just to test the waters, and immediately dropped into freefall. I hammered my upthrust to no noticeable effect but I held it down, boosted, and started cursing. My head was swimming from the Gs, but eventually I stabilized my descend and hit the forward thrusting, descending like flying in atmo. Five minutes and change later and I was smushed on the planet, wiggling my landing gear to click into place.
I've exited safely, but had trouble throttling up to hit Supercruise. I was over 10km up so was in no danger, just had to strain the thrusters a bit to reach exit velocity. I'll be plotting my route to next waypoint now, the route look pretty straight forward this time. I won't be going rogue.2
