CMND Log 046: Sol
12 Mar 2021Switch Killington
Been a while since I did one of these. Spent almost a year station side. Just got to vent your heat sometimes, and I've got more credits than I can spend personally now. Enough to live fat and happy forever. But, if you're reading this, you know how it is.Been making small runs lately to just get my feet wet again. Lots of stick-rust I had to shake off, but the skills come back fast. Hadn't made a log because not much relevant has happened yet, just some odd jobs. Smuggling mostly, while keeping tabs on Squadron orders. Look at me, playing ball.
The terrorist attack on Sol is what has gotten me out of dock today. Sol. The homeworld. It doesn't matter what you think of the Federation, or what planet you are from, Sol is special to every human out here. Sure, sure, other stations were hit as well, but Sol is stepping over the line. I'm saddling up to help evac, just like I did years ago in the opening days of the Thargoid war, back when the Thargs where making a beeline towards Sol.
Going over my fleet, though, I don't have anything that I can quickly and conveniently mod for search and rescue. Then, it hits me. I'm rich. Not only rich, but nothing to spend the money on. I think I'll take a trip to Shinrata and commission a search and rescue ship on my own. Maybe a Type-10? Those stations have millions of people on board, I'm sure I'll have butts for all the seats I can fit on board. I'll probably sell the ship back at the end of the rescue operation, but this isn't about profit, it's about my care for human life.
I'll resume slave trading later.
