Journey to Distant Worlds pt. 2

Elite Dangerous appeals to a wide array of my gaming interests. I’m a big fan of games that force me to think intellectually about the decisions I make and that force me to plan my moves out ahead of time. I also love games that allow for fast paced action. Because sometimes I want to be a blinding fast shooter guy ducking, weaving and tactically out manuervering the other guy and other times I just want to veg out after work, watch some netflix and accomplish a set of simple, repetitive tasks until I unwind enough to fall asleep. E:D allows for a mix of all of this at the drop of a hat. Beyond all of that, E:D, the main appeal of the game is the exploration that sits at its’ core.,Tthe desire to explore new places and slap your name on them runs deep in a lot of people, myself included. The game allows me to travel to far-off worlds and announce loudly to my single Twitch viewer: “I DECLARE THIS WORLD PROPERTY OF DRUIDICFIREBALL!!!” Part of what drew me to E:D in the first place was an ObsidianAnt video I came across while researching the specifics of the game. It detailed the events of the first Distant Worlds event. The thought of flying to the very edge of the Milky Way just to see what’s out there seemed fun and I actually was a little sad I was not playing at the time so I could be a part of it.
This blog will be dedicated to chronicling my journey to Distant Worlds and will be updated periodically with my progress. My first hurdle, unlocking engineers. This ship will require some serious engineering. My progress in that is already pretty far, but I still have a ways to go.
