Trip to Colonia, Day 00
Dear log, I feel a bit of an asshole, but I can only be satisfied about the new ship, the Abraxas...not that the Icarus was a bad ship or that it was somehow lacking...but the Abraxas allows me to bring an extra SRV, a better shield generator, a railgun and despite everything it it has a better jumping range than that of the Icarus. Why a Railgun? because with the Plasma Slug mod I can drain the fuel to optimize the jump range...maybe it will help me in some way.
After three days of collecting the materials and after reaching the various engineers to apport the mods, I am looking forward to leaving for Colonia and from there to reach the good Etienne Dorn to modify also the Life Support.
while I was in Explorer Anchorage I heard about a method to quickly collect all the 25 Occupied Escape Pods to give to Etienne...I really hope he wants to save those poor souls...
This time I have not prepared a real flight plan, I think I will aim for the closest neutron star and I will start using the much acclaimed FSD supercharging process, hoping not to fry in one of the high-energy relativistic jets of a neutron star. This is a risky process because I will have to stay several seconds inside the jet cone to to allow the ship to absorb exotic particles that interact with the Frame Shift Drive...but doing it with a neutron star will guarantee me a 300% jump range bonus, effectively quadrupling my ship's jump range for a single jump. This process also deals a small amount of damage to the Frame Shift Drive, which is why I changed the 3B Auto Field-Maintenance Unit to a 5B and stored a good amount of material to reload the AFMU.
