Contemplating the future

Deep space, CarthageI found him, on the one planet I should have checked first. Never thought the kid would make things so obvious, not in a million years. He'd lived steeped in counter espionage and fightin' the good fight, that I never thought he'd truly stop. But he did. The towel was on the floor, thrown in since the death of his sweetheart. Can't say I blamed him. I know what it's like.
He picked it up again though. Turns out I wasn't the only one who didn't think to look in Evarate, but they found him before I did. From the organized assault, they'd been watching and planning for a while. Struck with four special ops squads simultaneously, and knew the layout of the house. What they weren't counting on is the kids havin' company. We got out by the skin of our teeth and made out way to Shinigami to rest, plan, and train. It was good to be home again to see Otousan.
Wasn't long before we took a trip out to Citi Gateway in Inara for some business. It wasn't easy for the kid, but he made it through. I was surprised that there was no trouble. Afterwards, we parted ways, deciding that it would attract less attention if we traveled separately. Then "poof", he disappears. Sure I got the odd message via third party, but I got no idea what trouble he's gettin' himself in.
Heh, 'Kid'... the crazy sonovabitch is only three years younger than me...
Anyway, so here I am floatin' in Legion space, contemplating what's next. Well, aside from if I want another beer or not. Honestly there's no end to the wrongs in the bubble: murders, rapists, corrupt politicians, and pirates. I got my pick of activities if I want ‘em.
All I know is that I’m in a new phase of the game. Black Flight, Wreaken, they ain’t gonna pull punches now. So, time to stop actin’ out mistakes and playing the fool. Time to break the chains that are holdin’ me back, and show ‘em that I’m much more than what they think.
Time to go back to Heget, back home.
Today is a victory over yourself of yesterday. If you do one positive thing that you didn't do the day before, that is a victory. Even the smallet thing counts. If you can't think of anything that makes you think victory, then check in with yourself. Taking care of yourself is a victory over the times you didn't.
