She's A Beauty

I met up with another Commander, and he told me he could help me make more money by trading. I am willing to try anything to get my Anaconda or Python. He said it was a quick circuit and we could make 15 million in an hour. That was something I wanted to hear. So I flew to where he was, in Ngarabal and filled my cargo hold with people who had put themselves into Indentured Servitude. I took them to Raguti and made a little bit, and the Commander I was with - CMDR I Am Radish - sold his, and I had a message that I had wing trade bonds available. I made 9,000 credits off the ones he sold. I sat pondering the money, and the ships. I looked at my credit balance, and what could be outfitted. I decided to take the plunge.

I stored my Asp Explorer and locked the hanger giving instructions to the ground crew to let no one near her but me. I paid the, 50,000cr each and the look on their faces, I don't think they make that in a year, let aloe a day.

I took the elevator to the outer block and walked into Sawyer's Superb Sentinels. I stopped to look at the Cobra Mark III for a while, and thought of all the missions I had done in one of those. The fights I had been in, and the ships I had destroyed. Sawyer came over to me and asked what I was interested in, so I pointed to the ship that was nestled between a Lakon Type 6 and a Lakon Type 9. It was the Faulcon DeLacy Python. He started talking to me about the benefits of it, and I told him that I wanted to transfer the credits and send it to the outfitting bay. You could see his eyes light up.

I paid my 48 million credits and took another elevator to the outfitting garage. The smell there was sweet with a slight tang of metal and oil. Sparks were going off where mechanics tried to fix laser burns, kinetic blast holes, and on one ship, a new canopy was being fitted. As I walked in, another ship was brought in and I felt a pang of sorrow. It was an Asp Explorer, but the complete cockpit was gone. Holes shredded both sides. Only one landing strut dropped down. Three people went inside it when it landed and they came out a few minutes later with a body on a gurney. Space travel is not all glitz and glamour.

I found a mechanic and asked him for the Python Catalogue. I ordered my parts and caught up with Commander Radish where we had a few Lavian Brandies before retiring to our own rooms.

The next morning, my Python was sat there ... just waiting for me to climb aboard and take her for a spin ...
