Jaques Station

07 Aug 2016Birdnose
I am writing this from Jaques Station, which now has the undisputed honor of being the most remote point of human habitation. I arrived here in a Type 7 loaded with 189 tons of structural regulators, to help rebuild the station.

The entrance says "WE NEVER FORGET A FACE," and that's what I'm banking on. I didn't come here for the money; there are any number of better ways to earn a million credits than by going 22,000 light-years in a slow freighter. No, this is an unofficial diplomatic mission of sorts.

Jaques' goal is to move his station to Beagle Point, 65,279 light-years from Sol. This would put it closer to the area inhabited by my race than any other human civilization -- indeed, it would be closer to our colonies than to the nearest human-occupied system. Contact is inevitable. I hope, through this gesture, to ensure that the next person like me that this station sees will be treated with respect and kindness.
