Drive Failures in RES Part 2.
25 Dec 2015Tuurin
Well the drive failures are still happening, to be expected until after the holidays, but an unexpected development made things a lot worse today. The HUD graphics interface designer (known as REDACTED) released a new driver update for graphics controllers for all its systems today (361.43). After installing this driver into my ships systems the drive failures started happening about every 20 minutes instead of the every couple of hours before. The amount of trouble this caused while facing off against wanted scum in Anacondas and the like in LTT 15574, I'm sure, is quite understandable. Well after several attempts of hoping the update would integrate and calm down I had no choice but to roll back the driver to the previous version (359.06). I am happy to say that while the overall drive failures are still happening, the new insanely fast failures have went away after the system rollback. So if any other CMDRs out there got the same driver update today and are/start experiencing the drive failure every 20 mins, when before it was just every couple of hours, in RES, then simply roll back until Frontier Developments can find a fix for the overall problem and REDACTED rolls out a new/fixed driver for the HUD system. Safe Flight all! CMDR Tuurin signing off. o7
