As the waypoint system is in total anarchy and the station is run by pirates I haven't a hope of collecting bounties in a stock sidewinder. So I've decided to take a little jaunt around the Slegeae Sector and do some exploration. It was worth the trip for this system alone, four waterworlds with one around each star terraformable.
15:15
In fact I found a few new waterworlds today.

Well, I don't fly Sidewinders for the bounties anyway. Took my little hobby ship out again, this time with only one tonne of gold as bait. Got taken out even quicker this time, turns out picking fights near pirate ports is more dangerous than picking fights around tourist centres.

So my next sortie was in an Eagle. I didn't limit myself to the stock craft this time. But it's mostly class D modules. Seems they save the best gear for their own pilots, can't say I blame them.
18:13
Just encountered a young pilot going by the name of Slab Bulkhead. My first victory in this system, after an initial exchange of fire I stayed right on his tail through the rest of the fight.
18:38
My next dogfight was against the dominant faction here, the Black Flag Gang. A more experienced (Deadly) pilot forced me to flee and I decided I'd better lay low for a while.

I sent for one of my passenger cabins last night after seeing some short range sightseeing missions. But this morning everyone just wants to go and see tourist sites back in the bubble. You'd think they might want to visit a big city or a luxury hotel or something. Anyway, I can't take the time out to weave back through the permit locks right now. I shall keep the passenger cabin fitted though. Not getting much use out of the cargo bay and those are much easier to find in asteroid bases anyway.

As usual I took some photos of the other ships while we were gathering. This time they are mostly close-ups of individual ships because I was dependent on my ship's lights for exposure.

Here we are lining up for the mass jump, and that's me with the chaff.
20:39
The journey to Rosette Nebula was fairly uneventful but I did find some more waterworlds.

As usual, I landed to get some sleep.

These rings may not be worth much but they sure are pretty.

Another "night", another planet. Or is it a moon? Too tired to even look at the system map and check.

Here we are, New Beginning. A terraforming base on the edge of the Rosette Nebula. It might be interesting to come back in a few years and see how busy they've been.

Taking stock again. This EDSM map shows all of my travels since I got my first Sidewinder in Eravate. The highlighted systems are Sol in the bottom right, Colonia in the bottom left and Saggitarius A* in the top left. The longest loop is my first research mission out to Choomuia. I visited Colonia on the way home. Needed to really as my FSD was malfunctioning from so many Neutron boosts, the last few from Neutron Stars that no one else had scanned. To think I went all that way before I had my FSD tuned! It took a full month, and I flew way more hours per day than I should have.
The slightly shorter journey above it, though at 18 kLy each way I wouldn't call it short, was my second research mission. The Devil's Dancefloor seemed more worth the trip than the planetary rings the first lot wanted to see.
The current expedition is on the right of the bubble. Not my longest journey at all, though we're not quite half way yet. Sunday's waypoint at the Crab Nebula is the turning point before we head back towards the bubble.
