There are a whole bunch of Alliance bases around California Sector. I'm going to spend a bit of time exploring them, not the most profitable exploration but then it's not really about the money anymore.
First though I wanted to fly by my old (brief) home, The Quarry.

Ford Research Laboratory is investigating some Silicate Vapour Geysers.

Tried a little bounty hunting in a stock sidewinder again. Fun, but not profitable.

Not all the research is on the ground. I couldn't see if they are investigating the nebula or the vapour clouds.

It's not all research for the Turner Research Group either. They took out this bulk cargo ship.

I took one of TRG's leaders on a little sightseeing tour to see if I could find out more. But they weren't giving anything away.

It wasn't a one-off. It seems that Turner Research Group may just be a front for a highly developed gang of wreckers. How long can they get away with this? Why do people keep buying megaships?

Aaand... back to the Quarry. That's what you get for doing independent research at Mic Turner. The Bark Fungus seem to use mercury for sap. It's probably worth 5000 credits to find that out, cheaper than paying for journal access.
