The Old Worlds are burning

Last Tuesday, so rumour has it, a treaty between the superpowers ended and the rules of military engagement changed. It is no longer illegal to declare war on a faction that is already at war. Maybe the greybeards are right and this will lead to peace in time, I doubt it. There were a couple of days of relative peace and I have been out exploring some of the rumours Universal Cartographics have decided to share. But right now there are wars popping up all over the place.

The Alliance Rapid-Reaction Corps has been attacked on multiple fronts and is fighting wars in Hun Nal Yeh, Ritila and Teorge. Ok, I suspect we started the one in Hun Nal Yeh but it is our own stations being attacked in the other two systems. We have enemies elsewhere too and we are having to reserve resources to prepare for war in Aasgaa and my new home of Quator. I believe we can win all these wars but burn out will surely set in if this level of conflict persists.

The changes are shaking up politics too and we have elections on our hands in Oguninksmii and Heheng, with another soon to launch in Colando Po. Our people are happy though and these elections are going well.

It seems likely that our territory will expand in the next two weeks. We were certainly held back by the old regulations. But the real question now is this: If the superpowers are no longer willing to keep the peace, what purpose do they serve? I wish I knew the answer.
Do you like it?
