There is a lot of reasons to keep The Golconda's people away from the current civilization. And I would stand against any integration or openess into the contemporary society that spread along and outside The Bubble. Limited contact? Yes, give them the supplies and be on their way. Maybe the minor technological improvements in regard to medicine and repairing certain objects on their Generation Ship. But no cultural exchange between them and the contemporaries. They are right to have their own worries towards the humanity.
Those people spent more than a millenia on that piece of a husk, flying through the void. Should not these illnesses and virus spreading around, they would still live their happy isolated life, unknowingly drifting across the stars to anyone but themselves... Now they are out there. Speaking from the silence of many centuries. Their fear now? Among the death from the plague - fear of their own identity tained by outside influence. I cannot blame them.
We can only imagine what kind of culture and society they have developed. Isolated, away from anyone. For many centuries, going into their own way without anyone's interference. Introduction into your own civilization would be disastrous and would foil their own developments. You know pretty well why I have objections in that matter. They were happy all alone without knowledge there might be someone out there. Imagine giving into the acceptance that you forfeit into the thought you might be the only living one... or just eridicating the memories of past from your own culture, generation after generation.
There is a very strong ressemblance to one similiar case.
You know which one.
This pocket civilization, their own civilization, should not be tainted. And I am afraid many people do not see it that way. With help, there is a heavy risk of their own achievements lost, surrendered to a "better, easy life", away from the plague. If not an outright cultural suicide.
