GalNet: Draguan Nu Reacts To Marlinists

The Marlinist issue within Empire of Achenar brought so much attention both within Federation and independent worlds beyond it. There are many supporting the idea of immigration of the people who seek democracy, but there are also some voices that try to point out the possible complications should follow without any given guidelines made in the first place. Maite Snider, the General of New Republican Defense Fleet, decided to take voice on the Marlinist subject. "Imperial reaction to the terrorist attack in their own space should not surprise anyone. While New Republic does not condone the widespread terror on basis of actions of the few, it does not mean that even 1% of these refugee ships do not harbor the terrorists in question, Neo-Marlinist Liberation Front. Federation, given it passed the law in its Congress, made a mistake to allow uncontrolled influx of the immigrants from the Empire. There is a saying that terrorism do not have any ideology - and given how unstable the Federation had become in the recent weeks, instead of the safe haven many of these refugees might find out that the freedom they sought would turn into another version of slavery and abuse they had been vowing to cease within their own Empire - and their views may twist one way or another, this time targeting the flaws of the Federation en lieu of flaws of the Empire they fleed. The tensions will surely follow, especially when a lot of the Marlinists for sure got used to the life level within the Empire, which may and will result in cultural shock from the beacon of democracy that Federation tries to be."
This commentary given by General Snider raised a few concerned voices in regard to the past conflict between Draguan Nu and Toroesing, pointing out that it was the General of the Defense Fleet to put quite a handful of operations that were targeted against supporters of the Milkyway Miners Union - within both aforementioned systems.
"You ask as if you were not here, in Draguan Nu, around two years ago." Snider said. "This place had been led by scoundrels and pirates before establishing New Republic of Draguan Nu. The second time it went under anarchy, it was clear that Imperial - or rather, Admiral Patreus' - interest was put onto this system. When the MMU came here a few long months ago, we welcomed them as equals but given how shattered and decentralized their leadership was it led into silent corporate war and extended to our foremost planets in Draguan Nu and it took long months to get rid of the problematic element that caused distress in just one system. The similar situation may happen within Federation and even if not all Marlinists are Neo-Marlinist Liberation Front terror group - whoever ends up the President in the recent months, I heavily hope they have plans to resolve any potential issues."
"What about the Marlinists that happen to choose Draguan Nu over all other systems?" asked one of the independent correspondents.
"They have nothing to fear as long as they behave. We had experiences both with Empire and the Federation and any guess who shall not obey our laws will be expelled from Draguan Nu and immediate systems in control of the New Republic. Direct extradition however is out of question. and shall not be negotiated in any form"
The latter note was likely reference to the skirmish from April 3305, when Federal Agents and mercenaries violated New Republican space while one of their rogue crew asked for political asylum on Reighter Dock. It resulted in Federal side being repelled and a long court case mediated by Sirius Corporation.
