GalNet: New Republic executes captured NMLA members in response to terror attack

General Snider made a speech in the local media of Draguan Nu today. "Today was a dark day, not only for the Federation but for all the mankind. We face this Thargoid threat once again, as seen in the recent expansion into the Coalsack Nebula. Never before the data feeds from outer expedition contained so much feed about non-human signals around just a single planet. Now we have criminals using the Thargoid technology to harass their own kind. This is disgraceful and goes way farther than just some phony cult that was a thing in The Bubble. I was considering a pardon and integration into Draguanian society, but today the NMLA proved they are not the force to be negotiated with. Therefore, I took my privilege and made an order to get rid of this disillusioned carcass out of our station. Given the authorities and facts presented to me, I simply had no choice but to take that burden and move on. From now on, Neo-Marlinist Liberation Army is banned from our space and declared enemy of the people of entire Draguan Nu!"
The speech met with mixed but mostly favorable reaction. Given Reightler Dock's own past in regard to falling under control of pirates and terrorists, most of its inhabitants see very little reasons to be against the military actions aimed towards terrorists and dissidents.
At 15:00 GMT, six of the seven NMLA members were executed by immediate General Snider's order. They had been captured and interrogated on basis of the data provided by Imperial authorities in Baldr system, which confirmed their membership to the Neo-Marlinist Liberation Army. There are no details in regard to the execution itself, but an anonymous source within New Republic Security shed some light on it:
"They were dragged from the cell and set in line against the wall, just in front of the rifle platoon that had already awaited. General Snider was present during the procedure and was the one to read out the death sentence - likely prepared for such an occasion beforehands. Suddenly, the General taken away one of the prisoners and ordered to execute the rest."
Fate of the last NMLA captured by NRSec is currently unknown.
