GalNet: Anti-Federal Tendencies Reignited In Draguan Nu
15 Dec 2020Rho Tefnutet
While the situation from 3304 and 3305, as Draguan Nu opposed both Federal and Imperial interest, slowly seemed to be a mere memory, the tendencies to hate Federation grown once again along with Core Dynamics offer which was response to Lakon Spaceways' deals - as part of the Core Dynamics' plans to take over Lakon. The internal communications on Reightler Dock, as well as all over the system on the installations not officially belonging to the New Republic of Draguan Nu, started to flood with anti-Federal and anti-Core Dynamics' public campaigns. While the innocent joke with #LakonBelongsToAlliance GalNet tag started the fuss about Core Dynamics' plans, it grew into outward hostility not only towards Core Dynamics itself, but also anyone and anything remotely connected to the Federation.
"At first, what seemed to be the online joke about the Lakon's issues caused by Core, it quickly developed into open boycott - and into recession for the shipwrights on Reighter Dock that had been offering the Core's designs - most notably Vulture or old-fashioned Eagle Mk II. A lot of clients refunded their orders for vessels that were to be dragged to Draguan Nu. Many of them simply stated that they prefer to support Lakon and get their ships from pro-Alliance systems and the independent markets offering Lakon vessels." Said one of the New Republican analysts, Jessica Gao.
Some of the protesters also go as far as importing second-hand Gutamaya-produced ships - even despite ever worse opinion over Empire than on the Federation.
Reightler Dock's opinion onto Core Dynamics' response to the Lakon Spaceways' is mostly negative. Some of its inhabitants even pointed out the possibility of "illegal actions towards Lakon" maintaned by Core Dynamics, reasoning their opinion with the facts that Lakon has been a major shipwright for the Alliance, likely bound with a lot of delicate contracts with its navy. NR Sec already had to counter the angry mob's attack onto the Federal embassy - with newly-appointed Federation ambassador to Draguan Nu, Yule Campbell, temporarily given shelter in one of many New Republican offices on Reightler Dock.
General Snider made a statement that "these events shall not impact the relations with NR allies associated traditionally with Federation", but has not made any official response to the actions of the Core Dynamics or current anti-Federal tendencies, which go way beyond "voting with wallets".
