GalNet: New Republic Bans Official Core Dynamics' Dealers; Jupiter Rochester Wanted

03 Jan 2021Rho Tefnutet
This came as a surprise to many, but not to the people standing the closest leadership. Until recently, any sort of dealer who came to Reightler Dock could easily establish their business without much bureaucracy, including official dealers of various major shipmakers, such as Lakon Spaceways or Faulcon DeLacy. However, with the recent concerns in regard to their possible hostile takeover of Lakon Spaceways and in face of rather cold situation towards Core Dynamics quickly devolving into another wave of anti-Federal tendencies, General Snider declared the recently established law which forbids Core Dynamics from using their official dealers within Draguan Nu, making New Republic shipwrights the only legal option to obtain their models on Reightler Dock.

"We made such a move in order to put down unrest over the population, which is heavily against corporations and wealthy individuals waving their money around if their actions are outright illegal. New Republic officially condemns the recent activity of Core Dynamics towards Lakon Spaceways, seeing it as outright financial pressure - especially if Lakon is the main defense contractor to the Alliance. However, the other reason is that it is the Core Dynamics' equipment to be found quite often in hands of pirates, terrorists and other organizations recognized as threat to Draguan Nu."

While it does not mean that import of Core Dynamics equipment or flying such inside Draguan Nu is a crime, New Republic reserves both right to search the vessel once it docks on Reightler Dock (or any other installation controlled by NR), as well as become the only official dealer for Core Dynamics ships within Draguan Nu. Moreover, Jupiter Rochester has also been recognized as wanted by New Republican authorities, suspected as individual guilty of fraud as well as violation of antitrust laws and racketeering.

Federal Embassy on Reightler Dock already made an official query towards the New Republic's decision.

"Core Dynamics might be a firm born in Federation, but that does not give General Snider any right to ban their official dealers from doing their job. Warranty of arrest on Jupiter Rochester is also laughable, given that he would not come to this system in the first place."

It is likely that Sirius Corporation may find itself as a middle man once again in lawsuits between the Federation and New Republic.
