Rescuing From The Flames

This week it came to my knowledge that almost right next door to my home at Ray Gateway, Diaguandri, Thargoids successfully attacked Hinz Hub in the Ngobe System and Bean Station in the Nu Kuang station.I refitted my trusty Hjerim Anaconda with lots of economy passenger cabins, stored all guns and went for a smaller shield.
With the credits I made recently through mining Painite I was able to swap my Guardian power plant for a smaller A rated module. With the help of some engineers I know I could lower the heat of my systems and finally went to Hinz Hub and started evacuating those people.
If you haven't seen it with your own eyes you won't believe what all those people went through - fearing that one of those countless attacks would the whole station collapse or venting them to the black void. And even when the attackers retreated they left the huge station in a crippled state. The space dock with 40 landing pads of different sizes resembles not any longer to a well maintained space port for traders and travellers, but with debris, smoke, explosion and flames just looks like the entry to hell.
It took all my guts to enter the lock after I contacted space traffic control. That guy's paniced voice alone... You know those people - they stay calm and cool even if a Type-9 fuel transporter crashes mid port into a wedding barge departing to their ceremony trip. But now... this voice was fear itself.
Luckily authorities had a rescue megaship just 5000 klicks away and those guys know their job. Everyone of us pilots was briefed about what to expect, reminded to fill up heat sinks to the brim and hurry up once we would enter the station. Only with this knowledge of beeing backed up and able to get the refugees to safety fast I'd been able to get a few thousand of them to the rescue ship.
Once more and more pilots with large ships and more experience than I had arrived, I decided to move to Nu Kuang and help with the evacuation of Bean station.
My hope is that even if the station is 45.000 LS away from it's main star more pilots will join and help to evacuate those in need.
