Last night it happened. A small moment of inattention and my T9 miner got hit by an rotating asteroid's peak. Maybe it wanted to take revenge on me for burning the minerals and ore off of its skin?!However my ship suddenly shook and my most important optional internal, my coffee mug, slid down and fulfilled a rapid unscheduled disassemlby to a dozen shards.
Now, while there are a lot of things I can cope with like getting interdicted by pirates, jumping into white dwarfs or having to wait for a free landing pad there are things I couldn't. And traversing the big black without sipping something coffeinated hot black is part of the things I couldn't do for a longer period of time while keeping sanity and mental health.
I needed a new mug.
Yes, every station and any output will be happy to throw some styrofoam replacement cup at you for a price that lets your refueling cost appear vanishingly small - but I was looking for a cup. A real cup. A CUP. And as far as I know there's only one station which sells cups. Real cups. Hutton Orbital. The Hutton Orbital Mug.
I sold my painite for quite a few credits, angrily bought some overpriced coffee and switched my ships to my trusty Diamond Back Explorer. Alpha Centauri is only 4 jumps away (if you're traveling with a 69ly jump range) and tonight I will go and get my mug.
