02/01/3302 - 2 - A Change of Trade and Exploration Mission Conclusion

02 Jan 2016Michael Dodds
I have since returned to the bubble, following the conclusion of mission EXP-001.  I did just as I said I would, handed in my cartographics data and resume bounty hunting with my FDL.  On the first day, I accumulated 118 kills for a total bounty value of 4,695,420Cr to give an average of about 39.8KCr per kill. Not bad for a couple of hours of work although I've done better.  Since then, I've gone for a bit of a change.  The Galnet shows that Buckey Hub in the Cherets system wants Anduliga Fireworks.  Never having entered into one of these missions before, I decided to give it a shot and see what rewards I get from it.  At the time of writing this, I'm sat in my Asp again, docked with Celsius Estate in Anduliga having just loaded my third shipment of fireworks.  Yeah it nets a bit of cash but I'm hoping that the 'global awards' that I receive upon completion are worth the shortfall I'm having compared to bounty hunting.  The tracking page shows that it's currently at tier 2 an I'm in the top 60% which would net me 1MCr and 'global awards' whatever they are.  I shall continue to haul this stuff to and from until, quite frankly, I get bored.

Today's log might not have been very interesting but unfortunately, that is the nature of being a space pilot. You get good days and you get boring days.  In relation to the exploration data I submitted from my exploration mission, I managed to stake my claim on a few celestial bodies and advance myself to trailblazer. A summary of my discoveries are below.

First Discoveries of Exploration Mission EXP-001

SWOIWNS XA-A B6-4

6 Icy Bodies in orbit around SWOIWNS XA-A B6-4 '5' (A,B,C,D,E,F,G)
3 Icy Bodies in orbit around SWOIWNS XA-A B6-4 '6' (A,B,C)
1 Icy Body around Star SWOIWNS XA-A B6-4 ('7')

SYNUEFAI DW-L C24-6

2 T Tauri Stars (One orange, one white; 'A' and 'B' respectively)
1 High Metal Content World in orbit around SYNUEFAI DW-L C24-6 'A'

SWOIWNS CR-C D14

2 Rocky Ice Worlds in orbit around SWOIWNS CR-C D14 (6,7)
1 Water World with N2 atmosphere in orbit around SWOIWNS CR-C D14 (5)

End of Data

Obviously I was excited about finding my first water world but now I want to find my first black hole, my first neutron star and my first earth like. Ones that nobody has been to before. Maybe one day I'll achieve those goals.

Until the next time,

CMDR Michael Dodds, signing off.
