This is Dr. Amina Holland, Chief-Scientist of the Sevantya, this is also my first log to be recorded into the Sevantya database since I assumed the role last year, personally I prefer to discuss sensitive subjects like this one in person, but I feel like this should be recorded due to the gravity of the situation.
Our scavenging crew arrived from the HIP 14909 system with the recently discovered artefacts known as "Unclassified Relics" on 13/08/3308 at 14:38, the coordinates to the site and the procedure to "create" those artefacts were correct after all, the crew reported the loss of two men and one SRV due to the hazardous conditions at the site, especially after triggering the procedure to create the artefacts. As per order from Commander Tosh Vraugen a sample was delivered to both Professor Ishmael Palin and Ram Tah, and another 14 units were stored in the Research Lab along with the other Thargoid and Guardian artefacts that we have recovered so far, initial tests and scans revealed a complete override of the Guardian technology that was originally present in the Relic, my guess is that this might be the same effect that occurred with the Proteus Wave but in a much smaller scale, while comparing data with other Thargoid artefacts we have in storage, it is clear that the relic now display some similarities with them but it is still too soon to confirm if this is a Thargoid-Guardian hybrid piece of technology or if it is as a virus infecting an organism, me and my team will continue running tests and hopefully the scientific community will also keep working on trying to understand these new artefacts. However the purpose of this log is to report something way more sinister and unusual, about 2 days ago, one of the members of the scavenging team, Sarah Filton, started displaying some odd behaviors and her coleagues decided to bring her to our lab for medical care, as she entered the Medical Bay we have confirmed that her pupils were dilated way over normal levels, there were spasms occuring constantly across her body and she was unable to speak, at first we tought it could be the effect of Onionhead or another drug but the blood tests came clean, she was as healthy as she could be, me and the team decided to isolate her and keep running more exams for possible toxins or chemical agents that could have been in her system but so far we found nothing. Today, at 04:24, the alarm of the isolation chamber unit went off, Sara Filton was having a psychotic episode and was slamming her head against the observation glass window, shouting words such as "The Eye has seen me", "He is coming for us" and "What is far becomes closer", we managed to sedate her and as I write this report she is in an induced coma until we can figure out what is happening to her body, she suffered severe head injuries during her crysis so it is better to keep her this way, below I attached her medical record for analysis:

As you can see Sarah is completely healthy, we have no idea what is going on with her, Dr. Andrew suggested it could be a new type of drug we are still not aware of and it is undetectable by conventional blood tests, but her coleagues ensured me she never took any illegal drugs before, they said she started acting weird right after they departed HIP 14909. Listen, I despise tin foilery as much as any real scientist out there, but what if these new artefacts have an effect on the human body? But even if that is the case why the other member of the crew were not affected? Too many questions and no answers, we will have to keep running exams and tests but for now we also isolated the other three members of the salvaging crew, if the artefacts have anything to do with this, the symptoms will show on them too, now we sit and wait...
